One of the key ingredients to have a successful night
fishing trip is picking a good night fishing location.
There is one common thread that seems to cross over from
species to species of fish such as walleye, crappie, bass
and catfish and that is they all cruise the shallows in the
twilight looking for a easy bait fish meal. The trick is to
find a good night fishing feeding ground that will work
with your night fishing equipment.

1.0 How to locate good night spots for walleye, catfish,
crappie and bass off of rocky points.

For example my favorite type of location to fish at night
for catfish and walleye is a in and behind a rocky point on
the side opposite that the wind is coming from in a bay or
cove, that is adjacent to a sandy beach. I have caught many
walleyes and catfish and some crappie and bass in these
night fishing locations. And many times other fish species
too. I will normally back my pontoon boat in and behind the
rocks so I am in easy casting distance to the break of the
break between sand rock and hard pan.

2.0 How to locate good night spots for walleye, catfish,
crappie and bass adjacent to main waterways.

Here is another favorite night fishing location I use when
the night is windy. Head for backwater areas that are close
too the main body of water when weather conditions are very
windy. Identify stumps and structure that has easy access
back into the main water stream. These are the areas you
will set up your night fishing equipment. I normally lower
2 submerged fishing light sources close to the structure
but not over it. Set up your night fishing rigs with
bobbers and hooks to fish with live bait. drop your lines
just outside the submerged lights beam. Make sure you
adjust your fishing depth close to the bottom at first,
then work your way upward until you catch fish. You will
catch a variety of fish species such as
walleye, crappie, catfish and bass in these areas.

Well folks that concludes my article on night fishing for
walleye locations I wish you all the luck on your next
night fishing trip! God bless and have a good day.
