How To Prepare For A Summer Hot Tub Party

After suffering from the unrelenting summer heat, a pool party and hot tub party is just the thing to kick back with your friends and enjoy a warm summer evening.

Get Out The Spa Supplies And Spa Sanitizer

A dirty hot tub is definitely a real party-mood killer, not to mention unsafe. Before you plan on having a few people over, it's important to get out the spa sanitizer and spa supplies and make sure your hot tub is clean and fresh. First of all, if you haven't drained and refilled the spa in a few months, now would be a good time to do it to ensure that the water is fresh and clean.

While the water is drained, give the acrylic shell and cover a good clean with the proper spa supplies and cleaners before refilling it. Next, you'll want to test the water, add the spa sanitizer, and any purifiers/chemicals it needs.

Aside from the actual spa, sanitizer and cleaners should be used on the items in the immediate area as well. Wipe down and sanitize the chairs and tables. Ensure you have an abundance of clean towels and enough spa supplies for the evening.

You'll also want to make certain that everything is warmed and working properly before the guests arrive. Finally, make sure the surrounding floor or patio is clean and free from debris since they will inevitably end up in the tub otherwise.

Music

To create an entertaining atmosphere, have a plan for music. Consider your guests and create a preplanned playlist on your iPod or MP3 so that you won't need to constantly be pulled away to change CDs -- as the host of a party, you'll have enough to tend to!

Water and electronics aren't a good mix. If you plan on doing a lot of entertaining or relaxing in your backyard, consider a more permanent solution for your music such as mounted speakers or natural rock speakers that resist water, and can therefore be placed in closer proximity to the hot tub or pool.

Food

Any good party or get together needs a selection of drinks and good food. To quench everyone's thirst, be sure to have a variety of drinks including juice and water. This is particularly important if you serve alcoholic drinks. Consider food choices that don't keep you stuck in the kitchen all afternoon or require a massive clean up at the end of the night. Offer sandwiches that can be prepared ahead of time, or a hamburger bar where everyone can add their own toppings.

A little bit of planning and preparation before the hot tub party goes a long way in you and your guest's enjoyment. After all, it's your party and you'll want to enjoy the time you have with your friends and the fresh, summer air.
