There is endless family entertainment available when staying at Pigeon Forge cabin rentals. Outdoor activities, sporting events, amusement parks, tons of restaurants - the list goes on and on. A visit to the area wouldn't be complete without taking in one of the big stage shows in the area. Here are just three of the many choices of entertaining shows located near Pigeon Forge cabin rentals.
Black Bear Jamboree
There is a legend as old as the Great Smoky Mountains themselves that once a year, the black bears gather in a secret place to sing and dance. We haven't found that secret place yet, but this is the next best thing.
Before the show even starts, guests are treated to a country banquet that will fill even the biggest mountain belly. Southern roast chicken and barbecued ribs are served with all the sides you can handle and topped off by one of the legendary Black Bear deserts. Once your stomach is full, settle back and get ready for the show.
A huge cast of singers and dancers treat the audience to a variety extravaganza unlike anything else. Groove to 70s disco numbers, swing to old show tune standards, and tap your feet to down home country music.
Magic Beyond Belief
A magician who performs illusions using a 450-pound Bengal tiger? You'd expect to find something like that in a Vegas hotel, not near Pigeon Forge cabin rentals. Although magician Terry Evanswood has performed on stages in Las Vegas as well as other international locations, he has saved his best show for his own theatre in Tennessee.
Two hours of thrilling magic will keep you on the edge of your seat. He performs classic illusions, sleight of hand and escape artistry, all done with a comedic flair that will keep the audience guessing. You've seen these kinds of illusions on television, but there is nothing like sitting a few feet from the stage having it happen right in front of you.
Dolly Parton's Dixie Stampede
No mention of entertainment around Pigeon Forge cabin rentals would be complete without mentioning Dolly Parton. This show doesn't just have Dolly's name on it. She created it in an effort to recreate the kind of family fun she experience growing up in the area. Be sure to arrive early to see the Carriage Show, bonus entertainment before the main show begins.
The Dixie Stampede gives you performances of a great cast that includes dozens of horses, buffalo, ostriches and pigs - and a few people too. See trick riding, magic, and astounding special effects all set to great, foot-stomping music. The show includes a four-course meal of down home country cooking. Be warned - eating utensils are not included so be prepared to eat with your hands!
