U.S. based oil and gas companies like Triple Diamond Energy Corp. understand the problems of a nation that consumes more oil than it produces. With demand for fuel constantly increasing and fuel prices in the United States constantly on the rise, many major cities are desperately trying to find new ways to provide their residents with affordable public transportation.

In addition to providing affordable solutions, local governments are wish to encourage residents to utilize public transportation to reduce pollution.  Electric powered train systems and buses have been extremely useful in many cities and are keeping transportation prices affordable.

Access to Electric Powered Public Transportation

The one major drawback to electric powered trains and buses is that their dependency on electricity limits them to urban areas.  Residents living outside of the major cities in suburbs or rural areas are unable to take advantage of public transportation and are forced to continue paying high prices for fuel. In order to help alleviate this dependency on electricity, many local governments are considering using clean burning, compressed, natural gas as a source of fuel for public transit companies.

Benefits of Natural Gas Buses

A transit company in Tacoma, Washington called Pierce Transit is dedicated to using only “Clean Machines.”  The vehicles that make up the Pierce Transit fleet were completely converted in order to only utilize compressed natural gas powered buses.  Using these buses reduces the emissions of carbon monoxide and nitrogen oxide by 90% when compared to buses fueled by diesel.  Buses fueled by diesel emit approximately one gallon of soot into the atmosphere every 570 miles while compressed natural gas fueled buses produce not soot emitting nothing into the air.

In addition to emitting less pollutants into the air compressed natural gas fueled busses also produce much less noise.  Areas that are serviced by buses fueled by natural gas are extremely quiet when compared to buses fueled by diesel.  These buses are also easier to refuel.  The fast fueling stations have the ability to refuel three buses at the same time in less than ten minutes.

High Praises for Natural Gas Burning Vehicles

Transit companies all across the United States have applauded the innovations made by Pierce Transit.  To reward the transit system for renovating their old vehicles to run on natural gas, the United States Department of Energy gave Pierce Transit the Clean Cities National Partner Award for using clean burning fuel and being one of the first public transportation fleets in the entire United States to convert to “Clean Machines”.

Triple Diamond Energy Corp. and other U.S. based oil and gas companies encourage transit companies to make the conversion to “Clean Machines.” Triple Diamond Energy Corp. is doing its part to reduce our nation’s dependence of foreign oil and encourages consumers and governments to do the same through the use of clean burning vehicles.
