How Can I Download Movies On The Internet?

So I received an email from one of my friends a couple of
days ago asking me if he could borrow a DVD of the movie
"GoodFellas. " My response: "Quit bothering me. Just
download it already!"
Alright, maybe I wasn't so blunt. However I bet he was a
little shocked by my response.
The point is that there was no need to find a physical DVD.
All that you really need to watch any movie is a working
internet connection.
More and more often, people have been asking us about the
easiest way to download movies from the internet, and
whether there is a good selection available on the internet.
So, yes. There is a vast selection of movies on the
internet. You can easily find GoodFellas, or any other old
movie you like. You can also find new releases.
Surprisingly, you'll actually find a wider selection on the
internet than you would in a video store.
Alright, since we've gotten that taken care of, let's
consider another important question - Where's the best
place to download movies on the internet?
I think it's important to first point out the websites you
should avoid when downloading movies. There are a bunch
of "shareware" programs, including Kazaa and Limewire, that
can be used to find files online, including music and
movies. These work alright for music, but they are awful
for movies.
By downloading a movie from one of these programs, you are
risking infecting your computer with a virus. Since the
website is unmonitored, you don't really know what you
might be downloading.
There are a couple of other problems with these kinds of
sites - especially poor selection and slow download speeds.
When you use a shareware program to download a movie it can
take practically forever; even as long as a day or two!
This is because movie files are very large, and download
speeds at these sites are often slow. There's a good
chance that you aren't going to find the movies you are
looking for. The selection is pretty paltry compared to
the better options out there.
Another choice is to use a kind of paid downloading
service. There are a variety of different sites that allow
you to download movies, but charge you per download. The
way it works is you search for the movie you want, pay the
download fee for that movie (usually about $10), and then
you get the movie via a secure network with a decent
download speed.
This is a decent deal, but there's an even better and
cheaper method for finding equally high quality movies to
download.
There are membership only sites that charge a one-time fee
for a lifetime membership. By signing up for this
membership, you can log in to their website and download
movies as often as you like. Typically these types of
websites charge a membership fee of $35-$55.
The great thing about these kinds of services is that
you'll be able to choose and download any movie you like
just by paying a one-time fee. There's an incredible
selection, and you get fast, secure, virus-free downloads.
The best membership sites also provide the software
necessary to burn the movies to a DVD. That way you're not
limited to watching them on the computer; you can also
watch them on your TV.
So, you ask - did my friend ever find GoodFellas?
Yep, he sure did. And I'm almost certain he won't be
bothering me for more DVDs in the future.
Now that more people find movies online, you shouldn't be
surprised to find that over time the number of video stores
starts to dwindle. Take advantage of downloading movies
now and find your all-time favorite movies without ever
leaving your house!
