Scuba Certifications Explained

If you are planning on learning how to scuba dive, you'll
need to complete a training course and receive
certification. For new learners, this means you'll need to
choose between Padi and Naui certification. For experienced
divers, there are a wide range of courses available that
can help you improve your skills and get even more fun out
of your underwater adventures. Here's a breakdown of what
you might be interested in taking.

Padi or Naui?

For new non-divers, the first decision is whether to pursue
Padi or Naui certification. Both dive certification
programs have the same goal and go over the same general
ideas: to teach people how to dive safely. They have solid
reputations and have certified divers all over the world
through their programs. The main difference is that Padi
certification is more popular and is held by most of the
new divers who hit the water.

You might also be limited in choice to what's around you.
Most dive training centers will only offer one type of
certification. Hence, if the you find the dive center
closest to you only offers Naui certification, that may be
the deciding factor. However, the Padi e-learning courses
are giving some options.

Padi E-Learning

While it might sound ridiculous to learn how to scuba dive
through an e-learning class, what you're actually doing is
learning the basics through an online class. Things you
will learn include: recommended scuba gear, how to use your
scuba equipment, and most importantly safety precautions.
You'd take the course at your convenience, pass the online
quizzes meant to test your knowledge, then move onto the
water-portion of your learning at an approved diving center
or resort with a skilled trainer.

This type of course is a good option for someone planning
to go diving for the first time on vacation so you can get
all of the classwork work out of the way and start getting
into the water as soon as you arrive.

Beginning Course

Known as the Open Water Diving Course (Padi) or Scuba Diver
(Naui), this initial course is meant to introduce you to
all of the basics you need to dive. The Padi course, for
example, introduces learners to some of the principles of
scuba diving, as well as the techniques and methods
necessary to move around underwater. The Naui course
promises to do much the same thing, including teaching you
how to use the equipment and learn safety procedures.

As expected, training in the water is required for both
courses. The Naui course, for example, includes at least
five open water dives. The number included in the Padi
course may be up to the diving center or training with whom
you are working.

To become certified as a diver, simply successfully
complete either course. Once you obtain that certification,
the underwater world is open to you. You can easily go
scuba diving and go the next step in you training if
desired.

Courses for Experienced Divers

An important thing to remember is that once you select your
certification you'll need to complete the rest of your
courses through them as well. For example, if you take the
Open Water Diving course through Padi, you'll be able to
take other courses that Padi offers, including more of
their e-learning options.

The Advanced Open Water diving course offered by Padi
covers both deep diving and underwater navigation diving.
You'll also learn about some other exciting and popular
diving activities, such as exploring undersea wreckage or
going night diving. Boat diving is also covered and is also
a popular choice. It is very convenient that there is an
e-learning option for this course.

If you've chosen Naui certification, you'll be able to
choose the Advanced Scuba Course which includes diving in
currents, boat diving, shore diving, and salt and fresh
water diving. There is a six dive minimum for this course.

Other Courses

Both Padi and Naui certification opens up the possibility
of becoming a Master Scuba Diver. This is the ultimate
non-professional certification for a diver. It does include
additional training in a wide variety of diving techniques.

Besides this extra certification, you can also take a
number of specialty diving courses through the Padi
training centers, including enriched air diving which lets
you stay underwater longer. You can also learn how to dive
in dry suits or explore caverns while diving.

Additionally, experienced divers who want to use their
skills for more than just personal enjoyment can take
further classes that will help them become rescue divers or
diving trainers. There are plenty of options available once
you take the first plunge and get your initial
certification.

The World of Elite Sports

When you think of Elite Sports you may think of something
that is special or unique. Actually, it is another way of
saying that you are interested in one particular sport. You
could be interested in ice skating, bowling, football or
even skateboarding. All of these could fall into that
category.

There are many sports that we all follow. Depending on your
choice will depend upon what you consider special or elite
so to speak. Usually, this is one of the more followed
sports such as football, basketball, or baseball. There are
also ways to be able to collect on your elite teams.

You can trade cards for example. There are many websites
and stores that you can trade your elite trading cards with
other people. You can also go to a store or jump online to
sell your cards with others and make a profit.

If you have one that is a rare find than it can actually be
worth a lot of money. Some people will hold onto a card if
they think that it will be worth some value years down they
road. They will hold onto it and pass it down for
generations so that there grandchildren have something of
value when they get older.

Others will collect clothing such as a jersey with a
valuable players name on the back with their number on it.
If you keep this in mint condition it could be worth a
valuable amount in the years to come.

Two sports that are considered to be the most elite in
sports are football and baseball. Baseball has been the
American past time since anyone can remember. They have
even written songs that have to do with the sport.

As for football, I think the whole nation watches this on
Thanksgiving. Even in today's society, women are getting
into this sport more and more. They can even take classes
to learn about the rules and regulations of the sport. If
you watch a game on the television, they actually have
lines that show only on the screen to show where the downs
are.

It does not make a difference which sport you watch or
play. It does not make a difference in which team you root
for or which player or think is the best. The only thing
that matters is which sport you watch and that is which
sport you think is the elite sports team.

Night Fishing Locations: Tips On How To Identify A Twilight Fishing Honeyhole!

One of the key ingredients to have a successful night
fishing trip is picking a good night fishing location.
There is one common thread that seems to cross over from
species to species of fish such as walleye, crappie, bass
and catfish and that is they all cruise the shallows in the
twilight looking for a easy bait fish meal. The trick is to
find a good night fishing feeding ground that will work
with your night fishing equipment.

1.0 How to locate good night spots for walleye, catfish,
crappie and bass off of rocky points.

For example my favorite type of location to fish at night
for catfish and walleye is a in and behind a rocky point on
the side opposite that the wind is coming from in a bay or
cove, that is adjacent to a sandy beach. I have caught many
walleyes and catfish and some crappie and bass in these
night fishing locations. And many times other fish species
too. I will normally back my pontoon boat in and behind the
rocks so I am in easy casting distance to the break of the
break between sand rock and hard pan.

2.0 How to locate good night spots for walleye, catfish,
crappie and bass adjacent to main waterways.

Here is another favorite night fishing location I use when
the night is windy. Head for backwater areas that are close
too the main body of water when weather conditions are very
windy. Identify stumps and structure that has easy access
back into the main water stream. These are the areas you
will set up your night fishing equipment. I normally lower
2 submerged fishing light sources close to the structure
but not over it. Set up your night fishing rigs with
bobbers and hooks to fish with live bait. drop your lines
just outside the submerged lights beam. Make sure you
adjust your fishing depth close to the bottom at first,
then work your way upward until you catch fish. You will
catch a variety of fish species such as
walleye, crappie, catfish and bass in these areas.

Well folks that concludes my article on night fishing for
walleye locations I wish you all the luck on your next
night fishing trip! God bless and have a good day.

Knives start to look more like what we know as knives about
five thousand years ago. This is when man started to
understand how to work with metal. At this point knives
where made out of copper, then bronze, iron, and now steel.
knives are sharer and stronger then they have ever been
using alloys such as carvon fiber, and titanium.

The knives we see today can be broken up into two types
fixed blades, and folding blades other wise called pocket
knives. Both of these knives have basically the same parts.
The two most obvious parts are the blade, and the handle.
The tang is the medal from the blade that runs thought the
handle. There are also two types of tangs. The full tang
that goes all the way thought the handle, and the partial
tang witch only runs part way thought the handle. Full
tangs knives are much better knives and it is reflected
with the price at stores full tang knives are normally much
more expensive that partial tang knives. Other parts of the
knife are the end of the knife that is used to pierce, the
edge and is used to cut.spine, cross section, fuller witch
is the groove. Some people think that this is a blood
groove but it is really just to make the knife lighter. The
ricasso this is the metal part that is not sharp between
the blade and the handle, guard, and the butt. The butt
may have a whole in it to run a lanyard though.

Knives made to day are much more complex then the stone or
even bronze knives of the past. With a wide variety of
medals to make knives out of. Depending on the metal your
knife will have very different strong points and weak
points. If your knife is made out of carbon steel it will
be able to get very sharp, and hold its edge for a long
time. when the blade loses it edge it is very easily
sharpened. On the down side carbon steel will rust and
stain easily. Now stainless steel will not rust and stain
as easily but will never be as sharp as the carbon steel.

The handle of a knife can be made up of many different
things. The handle can be made of just plain wood. Or can
be very decorative. Other materials used for the handles of
knives are plastic, rubber, micarta, leather, or it can be
made of medal. Decorative handles could be made from bone,
ivory, oosic, walrus tusk, sheep or buffalo horn, mother of
pearl, and well just about anything

To try to bring the best quality's of both of these steels
there is a medal called high carbon stainless steel. This.
These blades do not stain and hold there very shape edge.
Another type of knife is made from laminate this is using
many types of metal sandwiched together to make the best
knife possible. Titanium is used to make a light but strong
knife, but titanium will never get as sharp as the carbon
steel. Ceramic knives are hard, and very light. They will
hold a sharp edge for years with out having to sharpen it.
But they are very brittle. If you where to drop it on
something hard it would break. When sharpening them you
will need a silicon carbide sandpaper.

Fixed blades are your basic straight knives they do not
fold and need to have a sheath to cover the blade and are
normally worn on a belt. these knives are much stronger
that there folding brothers due to the tang running down
the handle. It also helps that there are no moving parts to
the fixed blade knives. Pocket knives, and folding knives
have a pivot point that folds the knife into the handle.
Most of these have some sort of locking system on them.
Asis lock, button lock, frame lock, lock back, liner lock
and slip joint are some of the most common. These locks are
unique to Benchmade knives. And the pick lock. Witch one
people like is all just a matter of opinion they all work
great it comes down to what the individual is most
comfortable with.

knives are one of the worlds oldest and virsital tools,
there are knives made for just about anything. knives can
be used as utensils, tools and a weapon. There are even
knives that are used in religious or traditional
ceremonies. In every part of our history knives have played
a part in making us what we are today.

Keeping Your Active Lifestyle With Your New Baby

Having a baby in your life is a fun and exciting adventure
in itself. Continuing to enjoy an active lifestyle after
baby is born, is important to many of us. There are so many
ways today to take baby along with you and to include
him/her in your activities.

There are baby travel systems, which are a car seat and a
stroller in one. Your car seat and stroller are coordinated
and the system saves you room and helps make traveling with
your baby easy and enjoyable. These systems come in a
variety of patterns and colors.

One way for you to include baby into your lifestyle if you
are a bicycle rider, is with a bicycle trailer. Your baby
or young child can enjoy the excitement and entertainment
of the passing scenery and people while in a bicycle
trailer which attaches to Mom or Dad's bicycle.

Baby carriers and backpack diaper bags work well for those
of you who enjoy hitting the trails with baby. Carriers and
backpacks can be used on any occasion, not just hiking.
Babies usually enjoy riding in the carriers, and the diaper
backpacks include holders for an array of baby needs, so
you can carry many things in a single backpack. This makes
it easier for the family to hit the trails together.

If you enjoy going out for a walk or a jog, there are
jogging strollers, some which seat more than one baby or
young child. This stroller can keep baby included in your
exercise program as well as gives you an opportunity to
burn extra calories by pushing the stroller.

Many of the items listed above are useful for campers as
well. There are an array of patterns and colors in most
items, and some come in different sizes. Almost anything
you will need to enjoy your camping trip can be found:
different styles of carriers, car seats, booster seats,
strollers, baby carriers, diapers, and bicycle trailers.
There are also an array of baby clothing, swimsuits, hats,
and other apparel that are fun to shop for.

There are a lot of day to day activities that will involve
baby. Eating, sleeping, playtime, and exercise times are
times for both you and baby. All these times are an
important part of your active lifestyle.

Sometimes it is convenient to have a bag put together ahead
of time. Keeping jars of baby food on hand helps you pack a
nutritious meal for your baby at the last minute. You can
keep a diaper bag packed with most of the necessities for
last minute trips to the store, to visit a friend, or
wherever it is you want to go. Baby is an exciting part of
the family, and there are so many items on the market that
can make enjoying your active lifestyle with your baby so
much easier.

So, it is easy to see that keeping an active lifestyle once
baby is born, and making baby an enjoyable part of that
active lifestyle, can be a fun and exciting experience for
you and your baby.
